This original farm house is the oldest building on the Estate, dating back to 1682. Beautiful antiques and ornaments reflect the elegant style of the 17th and 18th centuries.
This house consists of 4 rooms: 1 Manor Suite (Chardonnay), with an impressive 4-poster bed and a view of the Rose Garden. 2 Junior Suites (Sauvignon Blanc & Hanepoot), both with original beamed ceilings & antique pieces. 1 Luxury Room (Semillon), overlooking the grassed Cape Dutch 'werf' or courtyard. |
There are two lounges, one of them decorated in the traditional Cape Dutch fashion. It has copies of the transfer deeds signed by Simon Van der Stel displayed on the wall. The other is situated in the original farm kitchen with doors leading onto the formal vegetable garden. The patio offers shelter for guests to relax and perhaps catch up on the reading of a long overdue novel. The back of Table Mountain provides for a |

| stunning view over the fairways. The gable of the building is a traditional "convex-concave' design. The large dining room table reflects the importance of family mealtimes in days gone by. This table can be used for private functions seating a maximum of 22 people. The well polished original yellowwood floor provides the house with a homely atmosphere. |

The name of the building directly translated from Afrikaans is "young man's house" - this was the house which the oldest son moved into after his marriage. Out of his mother's house but still a stone throw away.
We have 5 rooms in this house - 2 Junior Suites (Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon), both ground floor rooms with a back door leading out onto a patio overlooking the vineyards and the golf course in the distance. 3 luxury Rooms (Pinot Noir, Nebbiolo, Bukettraube), all loft rooms with skylight windows and spectacular views over False Bay. |

|
Each room is individually decorated and provide every modern convenience. The central lounge, with fireplace and comfortable furniture, opens onto a patio. This is an east-facing building and therefore gets the beautiful morning sun. Quality reading material is available throughout the house. Challenge your partner to a game of chess and backgammon or your house-neighbor to a game of bridge. |
| Recreation: Our extraordinary 18-hole championship course is a golfer's dream. On warm summer days or long summer evenings, you can go for a swim or enjoy a quiet cocktail by the pool. Enjoy a convivial drink in the bar, or simply the peace of one of the inviting lounges. Take a walk through the vineyards or the nearby forest. Your comfort is our prime concern, and we will go to any length to ensure your stay is as perfect as a summer day. |
