On the shores of Lake Manyara, on the exact spot where Hemingway pitched his tents, lies Maji Moto Tented Camp. Maji Moto, Swahili for hot water, is an exclusive, secluded camp, the only lodge within the borders of the 330kmē Lake Manyara National Park. The nearby hot springs bubble and burst from the volcanic rock beneath the surface, and towering Fever Trees temper the heat of the African sun. Manyara is one of the best places to see a wide variety of wildlife at close range.
Accommodation: Just ten tents are secluded in the shade of a small evergreen forest of Mahogany, Wild Mango and fig trees. Absolute privacy is ensured. The large classic safari-style tents are erected on raised platforms. The tents feature en suite bathrooms with separate showers. The dappled shade ensure a deliciously light and cool living space. Each spacious tent is invitingly decorated with delicate African-Arabian influences and comes with an en suite bathroom and rustic shower open to the vast African sky. Askaris (security guards) accompany you to and from your tent at night.
Activities: Game drives; Nature walks in the vicinity of the camp accompanied by Maasai guide; Bird watching; Library. |
