STT G012: Accra

Along the trail,

Day
1: ARRIVAL. On
arrival, you will be met, assisted through arrival
formalities and transferred to the Hotel.
Day
2: ACCRA-KUMASI. Breakfast,
leave for Kumasi, the Cultural home of Ghana. On arrival
we will visit the Prempeh II Museum, Proceed to the
Manhyia Palace the home of the Ashanti King to pay
homage to a local chief. Continue to the Hotel to
check-in. Overnight in Kumasi.

Day
3: KUMASI-CRAFT VILLAGES-KUMASI. Depart
the hotel for the craft villages for shopping in woodcarvings,
you will also see the production process of Kente
weaving and the making of Adinkra symbols. We will
then continue to Kumasi. The rest of the day is at
leisure. Overnight in Kumasi. |

4: KUMAS-MOLE. Depart
the hotel for Mole. On arrival the day is at leisure.
Overnight in Mole.
Day
5: MOLE. Have
an early morning game viewing at the park. Later return
to the Motel for Breakfast. Have the rest of the morning
at leisure. Then late afternoon, have another section
of game viewing of the animals. At the park you will
have the pleasure of viewing lions, elephants, antelopes
and various types of climate animals. Overnight in
Mole.
Day
6: MOLE-PAGA. Breakfast,
leave the Motel for Paga to visit the Crocodile pond.
Proceed to the Bolga market for shopping and also
have the opportunity to interact with the locals as
well as the market folks. Overnight in Bolga.

7: PAGA-KUMASI. After
breakfast, depart for Kumasi via Boabeng - Fiema a
monkey sanctuary to
see the variety of monkeys. Continue to Owabi Birds Sanctuary
to see the variety birds as well then proceed
to Kumasi. The rest of the day is at leisure. Overnight
in Kumasi.

7: KUMASI. Breakfast,
the rest of the day is at leisure for relaxation. Overnight
in Kumasi.

8: KUMASI-CAPE COAST-ELMINA. Leave
for Cape Coast to visit the Cape Coast Castle built
in 1667 and used during the Trans-Atlantic Slave trade
for a guided tour. Proceed to the St. George dMina
Castle, which was also built in 1482 by the Portuguese
to have a guided tour of the dungeons where the African
slaves were kept. Continue to the hotel to check-in
Overnight in Elmina.
Day
9: ELMINA-KAKUM-ELMINA. Breakfast,
visit the Kakum Nature Park for a breathtaking walk
on the Canopy Walkway. This is a suspended foot bridge
on top of trees. We will also have a walk through
the forest - Kuntan Trail to learn more about the
social, cultural and medicinal values of these endangered
plants. Proceed to the Ostrich farm for game viewing.
Continue to the hotel and have the rest of the day
at leisure. Overnight in Elmina.

10: ELMINA. The
day is at leisure for individual activities. Overnight
in Elmina.

11: ELMINA-ACCRA. Early
breakfast, Depart for Accra. On arrival we will have
a city tour through the principal streets of Accra.
The first place of visit will be the National Museum
where artifacts of pre-historic and relics of chieftaincy
are displayed. Continue to the Kwame Nkrumah Memorial
Park, where Ghanas independence was declared
for a guided tour. Then to the hotel to check-in at
hotel. Overnight in Accra.
Day
12: ACCRA-ABURI-SHAI HILLS-ACCRA. After
breakfast, we drive to Shai hills for game viewing, where you will see different kinds of animals like
the antelope, monkeys of different sorts birds, bamboos
etc. Continue to Aburi, the Century old botanical
garden. Rest of the day at leisure to admire the greens
and beautiful landscape. Overnight in Accra.

13: ACCRA. The
rest of the day is at leisure for individual activities.
Overnight in Accra.
Day
14: DEPARTURE. Transfer
to Airport for departure home.
